Winter Wonderland
Louise and Brian arrived on 17th Jan and Christine also arrived to visit on the 17th! It turned out to be a great time with them all as you’ll see from the pics. Louise and Brian hired a car so we got around the national parks a bit.
On our first morning together we participated in a snowshoeing trip. We were picked up and taken across the border in to Kootney National park. On the way we stopped at the great divide and snapped this pic.

The snowshoeing trip took us through some beautiful country and to the ‘paint pots’ where ochre and other colours are collected for painting. Here is a picture of the scenery on the walk.

Louise and Brian enjoy the walk and spectacular scenery, it was snowing lightly on the walk too – which was magic!

Christine and I in the winter wonderland.

Christine having some fun on the way…

Myself throwing some white stuff around.

We stopped during the walk to enjoy a hot chocolate, maple treat (cookies) and also an amazing maple syrup toffee with snow goody. Amazing. The guide cooked up some maple syrup toffee like mixture and we filled our cups with snow and then got a paddle pop stick and swirled the toffee around in the snow creating a cup of sweet goodness. Here are Louise, Brian and myself at the rest stop.

After a morning of snowshoeing Christine and I were lucky enough to accompany Louise and Brian to a visit to the hottub at their accommodation. Woohoo. Yeah winter.
