Walkin' to the Mountains

The adventures in Cinque Terre continue...

I was fascinated by these 3 wheeled scooter style vehicles that were everywhere around the Cinque Terre region. Piaggio make them and they have a handle like a scooter inside. Although they are tiny inside they manage to fit a lot of grapes in the tray at the back.

Vernazza! A lovely town where we had some well earned Gelati after a good walk from Monterosso. We also enjoyed a lovely swim before heading off to the next town.

Riomaggiore, the final town in the Cinque Terre. A lovely final stop where we enjoyed the view of the town from a bank of rocks.

Walking on sunshine.... I managed to capture Fabian and Ludo in the background of my self portrait. Cinque Terre proved to be a wonderful adventure that exceeded my expectations. The walks between the earlier towns were more enjoyable, purely because they are on rough tracks through bush land instead of man made pavements like the last two tracks. The towns are similar yet unique. There were plenty of tourists around, especially Americans, we wondered if it was this busy all year round! If you get the chance to visit I would highly recommend it, beware though, of the possibility of seeing some nordic walkers. =)

Vals, a town in the mountains of Switzerland. Fabian and his friend Denise, invited me along to visit a Thermal Spa with them. I couldn't turn down that offer. It was an amazing place, the spas were magic and we were lucky to have some sunny weather - we could even sunbake outside for a while! The most memorable moment was dashing between the 14c and 42c spas..... fffwoooaahhh!!! We had a nice lunch up on the hillside, the view of the valley and the smell of those Swiss cows (with bells of course).

Fabian, Denise and I in the town of Vals. A lovely experience in the Swiss mountains.
